About Cindy

Born in Maryland and raised in Hong Kong, I studied at Interlochen Arts Academy for four years and is currently attending Parsons School of Design majoring in Illustration. My love for concept art, illustration, graphic design, ceramics, and fine art was nourished by this experience which also provided me a solid foundation in a variety of art mediums.

My artwork primarily explores my experiences and thoughts of my childhood. Since childhood, I have always been inspired by picture books and loved telling stories and expressing my feelings through my artwork by digging deep into my memories and emotions, analyzing them and eventually presenting them as art.

My art style is heavily influenced by the picture books I read as a child, using themes such as animals, abundant use of colors and fantasy themes. I present my art through digital drawings but I also bring special parts of my artwork to life with ceramics.

I want to share how my feelings changed from childhood to adulthood. I want to share my experiences and thoughts through art with others so they feel less alone and understand. I want to share a visual representation of my own thoughts.
